April 2014: AHBL is in the process of being shut down. The DNSBL zones have been emptied.

As of Jan 1st, 2015, AHBL be wildcarding all zones no longer in operation - this includes rhsbl.ahbl.org, dnsbl.ahbl.org, and ircbl.ahbl.org. This means that these services will return positive responses for any queries.

If you are still using these services, this may cause you to incorrectly tag e-mail as spam, or create other unintended consequences.

  • If you are an end user and your mail has been returned as undeliverable...
    and the bounce notification references dnsbl.ahbl.org you'll need to contact the intended recipient by phone or other means and ask them to contact their email provider to remove all references to dnsbl.njabl.org.

  • If you are an end user and you visited a blacklist monitoring website...
    and you've seen that your IP address is listed please let the blacklist monitoring website know that dsbl.ahbl.org is no longer active and needs to be removed.

  • If you are a blacklist monitoring organization...
    please cease checking against dnsbl.ahbl.org.

  • If you are a mail server administrator...
    and your mail server is rejecting or flagging mail as spam because of dsbl.ahbl.org please remove dnsbl.ahbl.org from your list of checks. In the future you'll want to make sure that you periodically check the operational status of all blacklists that you consult.
